1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 

This film is one of the best film written and directed by Karan Johar, and starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan and Sana Saeed. This was Karan Johar’s directorial debut and his goals for the film was to set a new level for style in Hindi cinema. The plot combines two love triangles set years apart. It captured everything which defined the Gen X back then. This is one film which would definitely make you remember your college life.

The film takes place in contemporary Mumbai and tells the story of spoiled, careless, rich-kid, Sid Mehra (Ranbir Kapoor), a college student who is taught the value of owning up to responsibility by Aisha (Konkona Sen Sharma), an aspiring writer from Kolkata.

Ranbir Kapoor won numerous awards for his performance, and the film’s soundtrack was vastly popular.

It is the first film of Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment and choreographer Farah Khan’s directorial debut film. The film was shot at St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Sunil Shetty, Sushmita Sen, Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan.

Based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel, 3 Idiots is a must watch, when it comes to Bollywood movies based on college life. It tells the heartfelt story of three engineering students at the Imperial College of Engineering, a prestigious Indian university, who build strong relationships through their differences in character. The film was so inspiring that it led to global re-makes, including Tamil and Mexican versions, as well as Hollywood and Italian ones in the works. 

  1. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na 

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na would definitely be an emotional watch. The film showed a super cool gang of college buddies, who were really thick buddies. The film stars Imran Khan, Genelia D’Souza and Prateik Babbar. Produced by Mansoor Khan, Aamir Khan, it marks the directional debut of Abbas Tyrewala.
